IU Economists Look Ahead At 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Economists are framing Indiana’s economic picture for 2007 and focusing on next year.
Jerry Conover is the director of IU's Kelley School of Business research center. He says Indiana still leads the nation in manufacturing jobs, which are in decline. But he says the overall job picture is steadily improving.
Indiana still lags the nation in personal income. On the other hand, our housing market hasn't slowed as much as elsewhere.
Bottom line: barring a 9/11 style shock to the economy, Conover says 2008 should be a good year for Indiana.
