(LAFAYETTE) - Verizon hopes to have about 900 Lafayette residents back on their phone lines today.
This after a damaged cable led to lost phone service on Thanksgiving morning.
A spokesman for the phone company says a protective sleeve around the cable had cracked, allowing rain to seep inside. Workers started replacing the line Friday night.
The company said it only received 100 complaints from residents who couldn't use their phones.
