Madison Hot Wings Company Heats Up QVC Shopping Network
(MADISON) - It was a business started in a garage in Madison and now Nancy and Charlie Grooms have taken their company’s products to the QVC Shopping Network.
Ladder 51 Flame Broiled Hot Wings owner Nancy Grooms says her husband's appearance Monday night has produced more than 800 orders nationwide.
One of the requirements for being on the show was that the company be able to ship at least 1500, six-pound bags of wings within 48 hours. That's 4.5 tons of wings.
Grooms says she and her team spent much of the weekend cooking to get ready for the show.
The company has been able to expand with the help of the Ohio River Valley Food Venture, a USDA approved commercial kitchen in Madison, that helps people take their food products to a wider audience.
Grooms says she is currently in discussions with several grocery store chains, which are interested in selling her products.
