Jeffersonville Snack Plant's Future Up In The Air
(JEFFERSONVILLE) - Select Snacks has put its Jeffersonville plant up for sale and may close its facility in December, eliminating 245 jobs.
The "Louisville Courier-Journal" is reporting that the Ubiquity Brands, which manages and operates select snacks and its sister company jay foods, says it has signed a purchase agreement with Jay'S Acquisition, Inc. to sell the companies for more than 24 million dollars.
Ubiquity Brands says other companies could bid on select foods and jay foods during an auction that is part of the companies chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
Officials with Ubiquity Brands says new owners could decide to keep the Jeffersonville facility open.
