IDEC Announces Job Growth Across State
(COLUMBUS) - The Indiana Department of Economic Development (IDEC) met in Columbus Thursday to discuss recent economic developments in the state.
Indiana Secretary of Commerce Nate Feltman is touting job growth, saying 16,000 new positions have been created in 2007. Feltman says the economic forecast continues to improve.
Feltman cited the consolidation of automotive parts manufacturer PMG Indiana Corporation in Columbus as the most recent example. The powder metal supplier is moving its operations from Dayton, Ohio, creating 75 new jobs.
In addition to recruiting new businesses to our state, the IDEC also plans to work with Indiana companies to attract high-skilled workers to fill new openings.
