Last updated on Wednesday, October 24, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - According to a study conducted by the Indiana Business Research Center at IU’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, exports from Indiana to foreign countries has gone up by 5.3% year over year from 2005 to 2006.

The study found total exports to foreign countries from Indiana companies was around $22.6 billion in 2006. So far this year, Indiana has exported $12.9 billion worth in the first half of the year, marking a 10.9% increase.

The top 3 recipients of Hoosier goods worldwide, according to the study, are Japan, Germany, and, most notably, China, a nation that has taken a lot of heat for being an exporter of outsourced goods.
