(UNDATED) - Ghosts and goblins are steadily becoming big business.
Indiana Retail Council President Grant Monahan says retail sales for Halloween have grown well beyond candy and costumes making it the 2nd largest season for retailers.
Monahan says Halloween retail sales have sharply increased over the last 5 years and continue to grow. He attributes the increase to more adults getting in the spirit with big parties and lavish decorations.
While Halloween continues to be lucrative for retailers, Monahan doesn't feel it's a pre-cursor to the big holiday shopping season in November and December.
