Gas Prices Back On The Rise

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Fears of spiking gas prices are back, thanks to crude oil being traded at $92 a barrel.

Scot Imus with the Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association says Hoosiers may not see huge changes because of continued competition in the marketplace.

Imus says the x-factor is how long crude oil will remain at that price. If it drops, so will the prices at the pump. If it stays flat, it could take several days or weeks for the prices to be passed on to the consumer. If it reaches $100 a barrel, Imus says expect gas to be well over $3 dollars a gallon.

AAA Hoosier Motor Club has the average price at the pump at $2.78 for a gallon of regular. That is still below the national average.
