(FOWLER) - Construction is under way on a wind farm in Benton County, about 30 miles northwest of Lafayette.
Orion energy group plans to erect 87 wind turbines on the site. Each turbine will be atop a 265 foot tower.
Some Benton County farmers have cut down part of their crops to make room for the turbines. Construction started in late July.
Orion plans to start selling electricity from the wind farm in May. The turbines will generate up to 130 megawatts of electricity.
