(ELKHART) - VIM Recycling of Elkhart faces a fine of nearly 10-thousand dollars after a routine investigation into a fatal fire at the plant in June.

The fire was the result of three dust explosions inside a mulch machine at the lumber and wood recycling plant.

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued the fine after investigating safety violations. Two major concerns dealt with dust and electrical equipment.
