(UNDATED) - Nine members from Indiana’s Biotown, USA are in Germany this week to meet with residents of a community that uses bioenergy to produce its entire heat and electricity supply.

The trip to Juehnde, Germany is designed to create a partnership between the Indiana delegation and members of the self-sufficient village.

Biotown village uses agriculturally-based items, including manure, crops and wood chips, to generate all of its heat and electricity.

The exchange mission will include two days of meetings and tours with Juehnde leaders, county officials and town residents. A daily web blog will be posted during the mission at www.biotownusa.com.
