(CLAYPOOL) - The world’s largest soybean-based biodiesel facility is opening Tuesday in the small Northern Indiana town of Claypool.

Governor Mitch Daniels will join leaders from Louis Dreyfus Commodities during the opening ceremony between 10 a.m. To 2 p.m.

Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Andy Miller says the new production facility will benefit the agricultural community by increasing demand for soybeans.

The plant is capable of producing 88 million gallons of soy biodiesel every year. Indiana is considered a leading producer in the biofuels industry.

Two other biodiesel and six ethanol plants are currently under construction.
