(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Airport Authority made a presentation to potential retailers for the new terminal concept.

Nearly 300 concessionaires heard the authority's desire to create a unique mix of shopping and dining for the Indianapolis traveler.

Airport Retail Project Director Jeremiah Wise says the Indianapolis International Airport is a single destination point and not a mid-point destination for travelers to change planes.

Wise says the new airport design and traveler profile will allow the facility to crate a world-class concept. The airport will have 55-thousand square feet of retail space which translates to about 50 different businesses offering food, specialty shopping, personal and business services.

Wise says the authority will work to create a broad balance of local and national brands.

Retail sales accounts for one-third of the airport's overall revenue.
