New Auto Plant In Tipton To Move Forward

(TIPTON) - Daimler-Chrysler’s sale of a controlling interest in its Chrysler group will not affect the plans for a transmission factory in Tipton.
Governor Daniels has been in Germany talking with Daimler leader Dieter Zetsche and says it appears plans will go forward as originally announced.
Getrag corporate group bought 145 acres of land at U.S. 31 and State Road 28 for a plant which will employ 12-hundred people building transmissions for Chrysler vehicles starting in 2009.
