(UNDATED) - Part of Governor Mitch Daniels’ trade mission to Germany and England is improving economic development through agriculture.

State Ag Director Andy Miller says the mission aims to cement relationships with business partners, find more export markets and promote the state as a good investment location.

Miller says pork and soybeans are good for export to Europe, but the increasing opportunity is in the bioenergy sector.

Much of the biotechnology used in the state is from Germany but Miller says Germans are looking for more investment possibilities for the future.

Miller says Indiana's hardwood industry will also see increased exports because German furniture manufacturers want quality lumber.
