Fort Wayne Workers Reach Union Deal
(FORT WAYNE) - Workers at the Fort Wayne Foundry have reached a tentative deal with the company.
About 110 union members had threatened to hit the picket lines, after voting down a new contract on Saturday. Workers rejected the contract, citing its lack of raises and health insurance premiums that were nearly double the current cost.
The union and company owners spent the rest of the day hashing out a new deal. Workers will likely get a look at the details of the tentative deal Tuesday.
The Fort Wayne Foundry makes engine parts for General Motors.
