(HAMLET) - Foodservice marketer and distributor Sysco Corporation has purchased land in northwest Indiana in Hamlet for its new Midwest cooperative redistribution center.
Up to 500 new jobs are expected to be filled. Sysco's affiliate, Baugh Midwest Cooperative, purchased 320 acres, while the Starke County Development Foundation acquired 24 acres for infrastructure.
Construction is slated to begin this summer with the facility expected to be completed in about 12 to 18 months.
