Evansville Casino Wants To Improve Relations With Mayor
(EVANSVILLE) - Management at Casino Aztar in Evansville say they want to improve their relationship with the city’s mayor and say they’re disappointed the mayor wants an investigation into the staffing levels at the casino.
After purchasing Aztar, Columbia Sussex cut 20 jobs, claiming a duplication in positions needed to be eliminated. But Columbia has now given notice that 70 more jobs will be cut, triggering a call for an investigation from mayor Jonathon Weinzapfel.
A Columbia executive claims that nothing has been finalized and says the company is disappointed with the mayor's action.
