WASHINGTON, D.C.—It’s 2006… but the 2005 Income Tax filing season is just beginning.
The Internal Revenue Service is sending nearly 18-million 1040 form packages to those who filed through the mail last year.
It's also sending instruction booklets to the millions who file electronically. In fact, for the first time ever, more Americans will use their computers than their mailboxes to file their taxes.
The agency expects to process 135-million individual tax returns nationwide and 2.8-million of those returns will be from Hoosiers.
