Obituary: Diane Kinser

July 23, 1943 – November 18, 2022

Diane Kinser, affectionally known as “Nan,” passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Born July 23, 1943, in Burnside, KY, she was the daughter of Hayden and Opal (Pierce) Silvers. She married Karl Kinser on May 5, 1960. Although Diane was brought up meagerly, she used her skills and intelligence to manage two successful World of Outlaws racing teams. Diane was known as the captain of the family, keeping everyone in line and on task. She loved her family, being at home, working in her yard, and animals. She was an animal whisperer, even taming the squirrels in the yard and feeding her fox. She will be missed deeply by many.

Survivors include her husband, Karl; daughter, Karla Fortner and husband Brad; son, Mark Kinser and companion Patty Hughes; grandchildren, Rachel Bunch and husband Dakoda, Cole Kinser, and Lois Kinser; great-grandchildren, Noah, Caroline, and Rhylee Bunch; sister, Bobbie Duncan; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Hayden, and Opal Silvers; brother, Bill Silvers; sister, Betty Super; brother-in-law Dale Duncan; and her beloved beagle Alice.

Honoring her wishes, graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21st at Dive Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Smith officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services or the White River Humane Society, in Diane’s memory.
