Wildcats tame Stars at tough Buffalo Trace

Kenley Craig and the No.17 Stars dropped a nine-hole decision at Jasper on Tuesday.

JASPER – Pars were rare as No.17 Bedford North Lawrence dropped a 181-189 decision to Jasper on the back nine at Buffalo Trace during girls high school golf action on Tuesday.

The Stars struggled on the notorious layout, carding only six pars among the top four scorers.

“Today was a little rough,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “The back nine is tough and it definitely got the better of us tonight.

“We’re going to put this round behind us and take the rest of the week to get ourselves ready for conference. We’re lucky to have conference and sectional at our home course, so we plan to take advantage of that.”

Chloe McFaddin and Kenley Craig paced BNL with 45s, Kinleigh Root posted 47, and Ellie Horton carded 52 to complete the scoring.

Molly Kissel fired a 43 for the Wildcats.

BNL will host the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament at Otis Park on Saturday.
