21st Annual Lawrence County Patient Services Car Show raises $18,000 over the weekend

BEDFORD – The 21st Annual Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Auto, Bike, Trike, Tractor and Garden Tractor Show, hosted by Bedford Hobson, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram helped raise $18,000 for the non-profit organization Saturday afternoon.

“It is always great to have so much support and involvement from the community for the cancer patients we serve in Lawrence County, we could not have done it without the help of our sponsors and the great venue here at Hobson, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram,” said Judy Heichelbach, President of Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.

  • Survivors Choice: Larry Brown with a 1937 Ford Coupe

Bike and Trike

  • First Place: Don Jones with a 1997 Harley-Davidson Soft Tail
  • Second Place: Charles Delphia with a 1921 Trike Harley-Davidson
  • Third Place: Kim Lewis with a 2006 Harley-Davidson Trike

Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services continues to provide the necessary assistance for residents in Lawrence County who need help during their cancer treatments, with a focus on helping these individuals get to their appointments and help maintain balance in their lives.

The assistance provided includes:

  • Gas Cards
  • Nutritional Supplements
  • Transportation to treatments or Physicians
  • Medical Supplies
  • Wigs for chemotherapy
  • Medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs, and commodes
  • Prothesis and bras after surgery
  • Mammograms and PSA tests
  • Medicine ( limited)
  • Some help with utilities or rent on an exception basis
  • Limited amount for personal needs
