When police officers arrived they found 31-year-old Cody Cassidy laying in the grass shirtless near a lamp post at the intersection of 27th and H streets.

Cassidy told the officers he had nowhere to go and that he was going to stay in the area until Monday.

Police say Cassidy was impaired. They noticed Cassidy had pinpoint pupils, speech, erratic movements, and to be sweating profusely.

Cassidy told officers he was laying in the street to fix his injured shoulder.

Cassidy was detained after officers found a partial pill of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride and Naloxone Hydrochloride, a Schedule III controlled substance in Cassidy’s pants.

Cassidy was transported to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on charges of public intoxication, and possession of a controlled substance.
