Mark your calendars, the Lawrence County 4H Fair is set to begin this weekend

LAWRENCE COUNTY – The 60th Annual Lawrence County 4H Fair is set to begin on Saturday, July 9th with a list of events for all ages to enjoy.

Make your way down to the Lawrence County Fairgrounds where there will be free parking for those who attend the event this year, as a way to help combat the rise in inflation throughout the country, something that Andy McKnight, President of the Lawrence County 4-H Fair Board said was important.

“When it came down to it we had free parking last year and that brought a big turn out for the fair,” said McKnight. “We knew that was a driving force for families in coming to the fair because everyone knew they would have to pay to park, so in response to the positive feedback in numbers, we decided to keep the free parking for this year as well.”

The fair will provide Steel Horse Carnival rides this year from July 11th through 16th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with each ride requiring one ticket. Tickets will be $3 a piece, with an additional option to purchase a ride bracelet. Ride bracelets will be available each night of the fair and are available for $20 each.

The Bear Hollow Wood Carvers will have shows starting July 11th and running through to the 15th with shows at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.
