Indiana Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan public meeting set for July 13th

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a virtual public meeting to review information about the Indiana Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan on Wednesday, July 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program created by the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Indiana will receive nearly $100 million in federal funding for EV charging infrastructure over the next five years.

While formula funds are essentially guaranteed for each state, BIL guidance requires each funding applicant to submit an EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan which details how the use of NEVI formula funds is consistent with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidance on developing charging networks along designated alternative fuel corridors (AFCs) and provide infrastructure for underserved communities.

Join the Indiana Department of Transportation for a virtual session to learn about Indiana’s EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan. During the live stream event, INDOT and its support team will walk through each section of the draft plan. The presentation will conclude with a live question and answer session to receive public comment on the draft plan.

Speakers during the event include:

Indiana Department of Transportation
Scott Manning, Deputy Chief of Staff

HNTB Indiana
Diane Newton, National Practice Consultant
Peter Flynn, Senior Project Engineer

Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Inc.
Kerri Garvin, Executive Director

Registration is encouraged but not required. The event will be hosted live on INDOT’s YouTube channel. A direct link to the event will be provided upon registration.
