Three new Indiana State Troopers reported for duty to the Indiana State Police Post in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Three new Indiana State Troopers reported for duty to the Indiana State Police Post in Indianapolis.  The troopers are from a class of 18 recruits who just graduated from the 82nd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy Thursday, June 16, 2022. 

During the 23-week training period the recruits received over 600 hours of classroom instruction as well as nearly 500 hours of hands-on practical and scenario-based training exercises. These troopers will now be assigned to train with veteran troopers for the next 13 weeks before receiving their own patrol cars for solo patrol. The Indianapolis District consists of Marion, Hamilton, Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Shelby, and Hancock Counties.

Indianapolis District Commander Josh Watson said, “We are proud to welcome these three troopers to the Indianapolis District, and we look forward to them joining our veteran troopers who diligently patrol the highways and each of the communities in our area.” 

Haley Howard

Haley Howard is a native of Greenwood Indiana and a 2011 graduate of Whiteland High School. After high school, Haley attended Butler University where she studied marketing and strategic communications. She later transferred to the University of Tennessee at Martin where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing. She furthered her education with a Master of Business Administration, also from the University of Tennessee Martin. Haley was also a collegiate basketball player at both Butler and UT Martin.

Haley now resides in Johnson County.

David L. Miller II

David L. Miller

David L. Miller II is from Indianapolis Indiana and a 2009 Graduate of Perry Meridian High School. After High School, he joined the Army National Guard and currently serves as a specialist.

David is married and has two children, he currently resides in Marion County.

Grayson Morrison

Grayson Morrison

Grayson Morrison is a native of Hutsonville Illinois and a 2019 graduate of Hutsonville High School. He went on to attend Vincennes University and studied Conservation and Law Enforcement. He also attended Eastern Illinois University where he studied sociology.  

Grayson currently lives in Johnson County.
