Bicknell teen killed in a three-vehicle accident

BRUCEVILLE – A Tuesday morning crash claimed the life of a 17-year-old female of Bicknell.

The three-vehicle crash was reported at 7:30 a.m. on State Road 67 at Water Tower Road, north of Bruceville.

A vehicle was reported on fire.

According to Knox County Coroner Karen Donovan, Hayla Roark was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Roark was traveling south on State Road 67 when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Brian Ravelette, of Vincennes. Another truck drove by Richard Goss, of Bridgeport, Ill., was unable to avoid the collision and struck Roark’s pickup.

Both Ravelette and Goss were transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
