SEYMOUR – On June 17, 2022, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Seymour Police Department received a report of a dead body in a small creek on the East side of the Burkart Boulevard bridge between East 4th and East Tipton streets.
When officers and investigators arrived on the scene, they observed a deceased male in the creek, that appeared to have been there for several days.
The deceased male was removed from the creek and taken to the morgue at Schneck Medical Center.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
The Seymour Police Department was assisted by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office, the Seymour Fire Department, and Jackson County EMS.
