French Lick Resort offers shuttle service for employees from Clarksville Indiana to French Lick Resort

INDIANA — After quickly filling open positions at its new marketing hub in Clarksville, French Lick Resort is further expanding local recruiting efforts by offering daily transportation for associates to and from the resort.

The new 7-day-a-week service will allow Louisville and southern Indiana residents the chance to work at the resort in areas such as food and beverage, spa, and housekeeping, without the commitment of driving to and from French Lick.

“We started out only posting the seven positions we needed for the Clarksville office, but we got close to 75 applicants,” said Chuck Franz, Vice President of Cook Group, the parent company of French Lick Resort. “People came out of the woodwork, with résumés in hand, to get a chance to work for the resort. We had to figure out a way to create more opportunities for people in the area to work at the resort. The shuttle seems like a win-win for everyone.”

One of the top recruiting initiatives is Food & Beverage with open positions for servers, bartenders, cooks, and management. The resort believes it is well-positioned to attract talent in this area with starting wages higher than industry standards, and an attractive benefits package. Besides the set schedule the shuttle would provide, full-time associates receive medical, vision and dental insurance, 401k (with 4% match), profit sharing, tuition assistance, and a monthly bonus program.

In addition to food and beverage positions, the resort is also seeking full-time and part-time massage therapists. With the spas at both French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel being one of the most-requested amenities, additional team members are needed to keep up with the demand. Housekeepers are also needed to prepare for the busy summer season and the overall increase in occupancy.

“With three different hotels and 757 rooms on property, we can never have enough housekeeping help,” Franz said.

The shuttle will depart daily at 7 a.m. from the Clarksville office, located at 1501 Lynch Avenue near the Green Tree Mall, and return a little after 6 p.m. Shuttles will run seven days a week with a daily round-trip fee of $5. Eventually, additional shuttle stops could be added along U.S. 150 in Indiana between Floyds Knobs and French Lick.
