Norma G. Grimes, 89, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at her residence at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
She was born in Mitchell on November 30, 1932, to Lawrence M. “Chub” Day and Jessie “Edith” (Taylor) Day. She married Benjamin “Ben” Grimes on March 27, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, she worked as a Cook at Burris School, Grant’s Department Store in Bedford, Kroger’s in Bedford, and she was the owner and operator of Spring Mill Gift Shop.
Survivors include her children, Benny (Regina Sue) Grimes of Mitchell, and Debbie (Dwight) Padgett of Owensburg, her companion of 16 years, Ron Bohlman, grandchildren, Adam Troy Grimes, Tracey Capp, Mistie Dawn Bishop, Josh Grimes, and Raymond Grimes, great-grandchildren, Ashlen Grimes, Jameelia Grimes, Kylie Capp, Lindsey Capp, Kyra Campbell, Amy Grimes, Jessica Grimes, and Adam Troy Grimes, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Gary Grimes, and Roger Grimes, one grandchild, Sarah Grimes.
Funeral services will be on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday May 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home,
