MITCHELL – Spice Valley Baptist Church will celebrate its 200th anniversary on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. A meal will be served at 1 p.m.
Long-standing members will speak about their membership at Spice Valley. Mark Vice, Bluegrass Express, Cari Phaff, and Monte Tirey will be providing music in the afternoon.
Cake and ice cream will be served at 5 p.m.
Spice Valley Baptist Church was organized on June 1, 1822, and has had services since that time. First in a log cabin. A new building was built in 1837 on the present site and that building burned during a revival in 1887. A brick building was built back to replace the church in 1887 on the same site.
