BEDFORD – Two people were arrested after Bedford Police officers were called to the Lowes regarding a report of a domestic dispute in the parking lot.
When police arrived they were told the two involved in the dispute had got into their vehicle and moved to the McDonald’s parking lot.
Officers approached the two, one being 28-year-old Kelsey Straughn. Police say Straughn appeared to be “nervous and was fidgeting with her fingers and fingernails”.
Jeremy Johnson, 42, of Bedford, told police the two had been arguing and he was attempting to walk away from Straughn.
Police canine Zazu alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, police found a cigarette pack in Straughn’s backpack that contained a syringe and a baggie that contained meth residue.
Straughn told police the syringe was her B12 shot which she was prescribed. However, the syringe tested positive for meth.
Straughn was arrested on charges of possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe.
Johnson was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Missouri for failure to appear.
