Stars finish 5th in HHC girls track meet

JEFFERSONVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence’s Lindley Steele and Autumn Hall finished second in their respective events during the Hoosier Hills Conference girls track meet at Jeffersonville on Tuesday night.

The Stars finished tied for fifth with 51.3 points. New Albany won the team championship with 152.3, followed by Floyd Central (148.3) and Columbus East (59) in the seven-team field.

Steele was the runner-up in the 200 meter dash (26.59, with New Albany’s Shalandria White winning in 26.46) and the long jump (16-6, with White winning at 17-2). Steele was also third in the 100 in 12.92.

Hall took the red ribbon in the discus with a throw of 111-3 (Tamera Dailey of New Albany won that event at 113-7).

BNL’s boys team will compete in the HHC meet on Thursday.
