Mitchell man arrested on drug charges after officer spots him driving with no license

MITCHELL – On Thursday, April 7th  a Mitchell Police officer saw 42-year-old Eric Truelock driving on State Road 50 West in a blue Dodge pickup knowing Truelock did not have a valid driver’s license.

The officer stopped Truelock when he turned south on State Road 37 and into the CVS parking lot. The officer yelled at Truelock to stop as he exited the truck and entered the store.

Truelock told the officer he was not driving the vehicle. The officer asked him who was and Truelock said, “I do not know but it was not me”.

Truelock then told the officer,  “Okay I am sorry man, I’m just trying to get home.I know I’m not supposed to be driving, I was just going from work to home, I’m sorry for lying”. 

Truelock was then detained. 

Officers then took an inventory of Truelock’s vehicle so it could be towed. Officers found a glass tubular device commonly referred to as a chicken bone with meth residue in it. They also found a baggie of crystal meth, a smoked marijuana joint, and a baggie of marijuana.
