Bertha’s Mission preparing for community Easter Dinner

LAWRENCE COUNTY – Easter is quickly approaching and offers a day to reflect on helping the community come together in love by providing free meals to individuals within Lawrence County and surrounding communities.

Continuing with the tradition of serving the community members and individuals who need it most with a warm meal, Bertha’s Mission is set to serve the community once again. The dinner will continue with a drive-through format, to continue to provide meals to those who need it, safely.

Bertha’s Mission Board Member Atalie Klumpp says COVID-19 required Bertha’s Mission to think critically on how to continue to serve the community safely.

Those who need a meal for Easter on April 9th can stop by any of the seven churches to pick up a total of 10 meals per vehicle which include:

  • First Baptist Church – 1515 20th Street, Bedford
  • Mitchell First Church of God – 405 North 5th Street, Mitchell
  • Sherwood Oaks Christian Church Bedford – 508 Fellowship Drive, Bedford
  • Turning Point Church of the Nazarene – 45 Jefferson Street, Heltonville
  • Crossroads Community Church – 5000 St. Rd. 37 N, Bedford
  • Dive Christian Church – 892 Peerless Rd, Bedford
  • Lighthouse Baptist – 140 Rainmaker Street, Tunnelton

Due to the several locations of the drive-through and home delivery options, the need for volunteers is greatly needed at all of the locations.

Bertha’s Mission is always in need of help, whether that comes in the form of volunteering, or even donating necessary items to go towards providing meals to anyone who needs them throughout the year.

Bertha’s Mission is anticipating serving over 1,200 meals on the 9th. If you or someone you know needs a meal for Easter Sunday, don’t hesitate to call or head to one of the locations. These meals will be ready and waiting for you and Bertha’s Mission is ready for those who need it.

The deadline to request a home delivery is April 5th by 3:00 p.m. To request home delivery call 317-480-0085.

A donation page has been set up on Facebook, to raise money for the Easter Supper, with a goal of $4,992 for community members to help the organization further assist community members throughout the year.
