William Boggs

According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 5th a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded to the 460 block of Johnson Lane after a report of a male overdosing at the residence. When emergency crews arrived they began treating Boggs.

According to Bogg’s grandfather, he was in the lower part of the home when Boggs’ girlfriend ran down the stairs, made a frantic phone call, and left the home. The grandfather went upstairs and found Boggs laying on the floor of his bedroom unconscious and unresponsive. The grandfather administered a dose of Narcan and shortly medical personnel arrived.

A Seals ambulance paramedic told the officer he believed there were syringes laying on a table in the room Boggs was in.

The officer entered the bedroom and found multiple syringes, a plastic baggy containing residue, a metal spoon with residue on it, on a table in plain view. All tested positive for heroin and fentanyl.

Boggs told police he believed he had a seizure but was unsure what had happened. Boggs was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
