Wanted woman receives new charges after police find meth

MITCHELL – On Sunday a Bedford woman was arrested after Mitchell Police Department officers responded to the 310 block of West Warren Street to serve a warrant on 20-year-old Samantha Lindsey.

When officers arrived at the home they were told Lindsey was not home. The homeowner allowed officers to enter the home. An officer noticed a door slightly ajar and could hear multiple voices coming from inside the room. As the officer began to open that door, Lindsey walked toward the door. Lindsey began taking off her jacket but the officer told her not to remove it. However, Lindsey quickly removed the jacket. The officer heard a glass-like noise when the jacket hit the floor. Lindsey was placed in handcuffs.

In the pocket, police found a glass pipe or “chicken bone”.

Lindsey stated the neither the jacket nor the pipe belonged to her. In her backpack police found another glass smoking pipe that contained meth residue along with another baggie that contained crystal meth. Police also found a Suboxone pill and a syringe.

Lindsey refused to speak to officers but later stated “I think I have dope in my bra”.

The officers removed her handcuffs so she could remove the drugs. She then claimed it was not in her bra and must have “fallen out”. Lindsey was arrested on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, and a warrant for failure to appear.
