Temporary signals to control traffic for bridge work on State Road 46 over Rattlesnake Creek

OWEN CO. —  Indiana Department of Transportation contractor CLR Inc. plans to begin rehabilitation work on or after Monday, March 21, at the State Road 46 bridge over Rattlesnake Creek in Owen County. The bridge is located just over two miles west of U.S. 231 near Spencer.

Temporary signals will control traffic during construction. The westbound lane of S.R. 46 will close first, with all traffic using the eastbound lane for travel. Work includes substructure and superstructure patching, in addition to abutment repairs under the bridge.

The contract was awarded to CLR in December for a total of $460,075.60. The project is expected to be complete by late August. INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
