Obituary: Bernadette M. “Mickey” Hamilton

June 17, 1944 – March 7, 2022

Bernadette M. “Mickey” Hamilton, 77, of Bedford, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at Stonebridge Health Campus, she had resided there for ten years and received exceptional care.

She was born June 17, 1944, in Peoria, Illinois, to Herbert and Bernadine Butler Hamilton. Mickey was a participant of the LARC Center, worked for 18 years at Long John Silver’s, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She loved cruising with her favorite nephew, Jeff, in his convertible and going for ice cream. She also loved doing embroidery work and playing Bingo and Nickle Pitch with all of her friends at Stonebridge.

Surviving to cherish Mickey’s memory is her sister, Mary Jo Williams of Bedford; niece, Angie Williams of Bedford; nephew, Jeff Williams of Bedford; great-nephew, Donavan Sage; aunt, Barbara Butler; and several cousins.

Preceding Mickey in death were her parents; and her twin sister, Mary Hamilton.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Jegan Peter and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with the Rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mickey’s memory to the Guardian Fund at St. Vincent de Paul School or the LARC Center of Bedford.
