Monroe County Y offers free “Whole Health for the Whole Person” corporate retreat

BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe County YMCA is hosting a free “Whole Health for the Whole Person” Corporate Retreat on Friday, February 18, from 11:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Northwest YMCA (1375 N. Wellness Way, Bloomington, Indiana, 47404).

This inaugural event at the Y is open to all community organizations within Monroe County and surrounding areas. Businesses can register as many guests as they like, if space allows, and give their employees an afternoon of self-care. Guests will enjoy a free lunch, generously provided by Jimmy John’s, followed by stress management presentations, breakout sessions, and fun activities to help participants unwind.

The complete itinerary can be found below:

  • 11:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. – Lunch
  • 12:45 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. – How to Handle Stress in the Workplace, presented by Dr. Jason Winkle, CEO of Monroe County YMCA
  • 1:45 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. – Breakout sessions per guest’s choice:
    o 10-Minute Office Workouts
    o Tips from a Dietitian
  • 2:45 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. -The Importance of Play and Recreation, presented by Dr. Don Rogers, Professor of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport at ISU and Coordinator of Recreational Therapy Program
  • 3:30 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. – Tour the Y, play cornhole, basketball, and more

“It’s more important than ever for professionals to focus on their health and wellness,” said Jason Winkle, CEO of the Monroe County YMCA. “With this retreat, we want to help our community prevent burnout among their staff, encourage a positive work environment, and improve team building. Here at the Y, we’re able to offer a variety of opportunities for people to not only focus on their physical health, but also on their spirit and mind. We want to lift each other up and provide tools professionals can use to help them focus on their whole health.”
