Man arrested after cutting woman’s hand with a knife

OOLITIC – An Oolitic man was arrested after the Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington was requested Sunday to a home in the 1020 block of Lafayette Avenue.

When police arrived they detained 64-year-old Jefferson Minton.

Police learned that a male was at the home and was shoveling the woman’s vehicle when he witnessed Minton grab the woman and shove her inside the home. 

She then exited the home and had what appeared to have a knife cut on her hand. 

The woman told police the knife had a black handle and silver curved blade. Police found the knife in the kitchen on the countertop.

Minton told police he had been drinking vodka all day. 

Minton was arrested and is facing charges of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement, intimidation, and criminal recklessness.
