Bedford man arrested after police respond to a domestic fight

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday night when Bedford Police officers were called to a home in the 1420 block of 17th Street after a report of a domestic fight.

When officers arrived they found 32-year-old Damian Evans sitting on the porch. Evans told police his wife was inside the residence.  

The female told police, Evans had been drinking and was “being rough” with her. 

She told police Evans had thrown her into a door and pushed her. The couple’s baby was in a crib at the time of the incident.

The woman showed police bruises she suffered during the altercation.

Evans was arrested on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
