ISP Versailles Post accepting applications for civilian positions

VERSAILLES – The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for Regional Dispatcher and Equipment Mechanic to fill positions at the Versailles Post. 

The Regional Dispatcher position will help staff the Regional Dispatch Center at the Versailles Post. The primary responsibilities of the dispatcher position is to receive, record, disseminate, and accurately dispatch information to department police personnel and other law enforcement agencies. Successful applicants must be able to receive, record, disseminate, and accurately dispatch information to police personnel, other law enforcement agencies, and other support services.

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required as well as the ability to successfully pass a typing test. Two years of public safety communications experience and an emergency medical technician certification are preferred but not required.  The applicant should also reside within driving distance of the Versailles Regional Dispatch Center located in Versailles, Indiana.

Regional Dispatcher pay starts at $38,532 per year.

The Equipment Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to keep all state-owned vehicles in the best mechanical operating condition by performing preventative maintenance and assigned repairs. 

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be able to operate a motor vehicle.  Applicants must be a graduate of an automotive trade school or have at least two years of professional experience in automotive maintenance and repair.  Applicants must also be able to lift and move heavy objects. 

Equipment Mechanic pay starts at $35,126 per year.
