Marion County judicial applicant interviews take place January 18

MARION CO. – On January 18, the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee will conduct interviews of applicants for a Marion County trial court judicial position.

The interviews will take place in the FUSE West conference room on the second floor of the South Tower at Capital Center, 201 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.

Interviews are open to the public. Due to social distancing, there will be limited in-person seating. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.

Members of the audience are asked to refrain from activities that might distract from the interview process.

After interviews have concluded, the Committee will deliberate in a private executive session.

The Committee considers applicants’ legal education, writings, reputation in the practice of law, and other pertinent information. The Committee vote is held publicly following deliberations.

According to Indiana law, the Committee is required to submit to the Governor “the three most qualified candidates” for an appointment when a vacancy arises.
