Updated – Bedford North Lawrence High School in soft lockdown due to alleged shots fired

BEDFORD – There is a large police presence at Bedford North Lawrence High School with members of the Indiana State Police, Bedford Police, and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responding to a call of alleged shots fired.

Update: Students have been released from the lockdown and are now boarding buses to go home.

Earlier: At this time there have been no official reports of shots fired and no reports of any injuries.

Faculty and students are all still located on school property and a lockdown is currently in place as officers sweep the area to confirm the school is a safe environment.
