Town of Oolitic’s Christmas on Main Street is Saturday

OOLITIC – The Town of Oolitic will be hosting ” Christmas on Main Street” Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Main Street in Oolitic will be shut down starting at 3:00 p.m. for the festivities that include horse-drawn covered wagon rides, a petting zoo, visiting Santa, and activities including making treats for Santa’s reindeer.

Oolitic Hair Company will be set up to host families at the start of the event for children to make treats for all of Santa’s Reindeer and the Post Office will be taking everyone’s letters for Santa.

Chuck Edge, from Milltown, will be bringing two teams of horses, and two wagons one of which will be accessible for those who suffer physical mobility issues. The rides will be free of charge; however, he will be accepting tips. The horses and wagons will be in the parking lot at Main Street and Lafayette Avenue. Rides will begin at 4 p.m.

Santa will arrive at 5:00 p.m. on one of the wagons and will be set up at the fire station located at 5 Hoosier Avenue and will be there for all to visit and take pictures with.

A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at the pine tree located between the Post Office and Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. with hotdogs and hot cider, available thanks to the Oolitic Baptist Church.
