Updates to eviction dates presented at Bedford Housing Authority meeting

BEDFORD – During the Bedford Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Executive Director Bobbie Ames shared an update to regulations of eviction.

Previously, supplemental guidance for eviction allowed up to 14 days for non-payment before individuals could be evicted from a rented property. Due to issues still present with COVID-19, tenants will have up to 30 days before an eviction notice will be presented.

Director Ames has already made steps to updating receipts to tenants and individuals with the updated time limit. Currently, there is no word if the eviction limit will revert back to 14 days once COVID-19 restrictions or issues subside.
