BEDFORD – Bedford Rotary Club will once again be holding a “Toast” on February 26, 2022.
On that date, the club will “Toast to Dan Bortner” at the First Baptist Church in Bedford. More details will be released closer to the event.
Bortner, director of Indiana State Parks, is a Lawrence County native. He has served as director of Indiana State Parks since 2005 and is currently the third longest-serving state parks director in the nation.
Bortner graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School with the Class of 1983. He graduated from Indiana University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He also serves as president of the National Association of State Park Directors. He serves on the board of directors for America’s State Parks Foundation and on the Indiana University Executive Development Program’s board of trustees. He also serves on the Bedford City Council.
He and his wife April have been married more than 30 years and have three children: Alex Bortner, Dylon Bortner, and Ashley and Clayton Barnes and one granddaughter, Claire Barnes.
All proceeds will go towards the Bedford Rotary Scholarship fund.
