“Ending Overdose Together” Monroe County CARES Fall Community Event is today

BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe County CARES Board invites the community to a zoom discussion on “Ending Overdose Together” on November 15th from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Kass Botts and Nicholas Voyles, from the Indiana Recovery Alliance (IRA), will lead the discussion on how a community can come together to prevent overdose deaths and support the well-being of people most at risk.

Both speakers have worked extensively in areas of addiction and social services. Ms. Botts is currently employed by Indiana University. She previously worked as the Executive Director of the IRA, as well as at Beacon and the Monroe County Health Department.

Nicholas Voyles is employed as the Executive Director of the Indiana Recovery Alliance. His previous work at the IRA included being the syringe service program manager and working on a HepConnect grant.

Monroe County CARES is the local coordinating council of the governor’s commission for a drug-free Indiana established to coordinate, support, and promote local efforts to prevent and reduce harmful involvement with alcohol and other drugs. The board distributes grants each year to local agencies that work to reduce substance use in the areas of prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and justice.
