Secretary Sullivan surprises Elkhart County poll worker with ‘Election Hero’ Award

ELKHART – Indiana Secretary of State Holli Sullivan today honored a longtime Hoosier poll worker with the ‘2021 Election Hero’ award.

Kris Mueller has served in almost all aspects of the election process in Elkhart County for more than 15 years. Her conscientious approach, attention to detail, patience, and diplomacy, result in precinct locations and vote centers that run efficiently and smoothly.

“It is an honor to recognize someone who has consistently given themselves, not only to work in our elections in Indiana, but to help make them better,” said Secretary Sullivan. “This award should not only shine a spotlight on Kris and her work, but also every one of the thousands of Hoosiers who give their time to help make sure our elections are fair, secure, and accessible.”

National Election Hero Day is a national day of recognition on November 1, 2021. On this day, nonprofits, business leaders, brands, public officials, and many more celebrate the tremendous contributions election administration teams, poll workers, and more across the nation are making to ensure a safe, secure voting experience for all.
